| Worship at St. Michael's |
Recently there have been significant developments in what was a few years ago a traditional Anglican parish comprising four churches. Two of the churches, at Portobello and Macandrew Bay, have been sold and worship and ministry now take place in different settings. Two of our faith communities have adopted Shared Ministry with their own local priests and ministry teams. St Michael's, Andersons Bay, is a traditional church with five lay ministers who help with the three regular services of Holy Communion each week. In November 2005 the Rev'd Helen Wilderspin was welcomed as Vicar/Enabler.
St Nicholas' in Waverley is commissioned into Shared Ministry and offers a variety of interesting services from the New Zealand Prayer Book, a monthly Family service and a monthly community evening known as "Together on Friday". The Ministry Team includes an administrator, two priests, an evangelist, two liturgists and a pastoral care co-ordinator.
St Aidan's, Macandrew Bay, has also adopted Shared Ministry with two local priests and a Ministry Team of seven performing a variety of ministries.
Our Parish has one Vestry made up of representatives from each of the faith communities, and we combine several times a year for worship, social or fundraising events.

The Church of St Michael and All Angels provides a dignified and worshipful atmosphere for the mainly traditional services. We welcome visitors to our services and enjoy a chat over morning tea afterwards. Parishioners value their time together offering mutual support and encouragement for our activities at home, in the workplace and in the community. Our children meet for Sunday School on the first Sunday of the month, and it is our aim to support the two teachers and build up this group.

Services and activities:
We celebrate a Family Eucharist to which children are especially welcome. The service is designed to be easily followed and understood. Children have the opportunity to join in an activity in our warm hall, while parents have the space to enjoy the sermon. The service is followed by morning tea for all.
A traditional Eucharistic service is celebrated from one of the NZ Prayer Book options. This incorporates a welcoming congregation and a variety of preachers and preaching styles and is followed by fellowship over morning tea in the hall.
This opportunity for worship, fellowship and discovery is held on the second Friday of each month. A quiet reflective Night Prayer begins the evening at 6pm, followed by a shared pot luck meal at 6.30pm, and at 7.15pm a guest speaker and discussion on topical or community interests.
Meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month for guest speakers, outings, fellowship.

| The Village of Macandrew Bay |
Saint Aidan's Church was built in 1953 and was home to the Anglican faith community at Macandrew Bay until January 2002 when the building was sold. A time of exploring new ways to be church in the 21st century followed as we based our worship and ministry, and outreach activities at the Loaves and Fishes Cafe in Macandrew Bay. Our Ministry team was commissioned in December 2001, and Loaves and Fishes became the centre for ministries of administration, creativity, community outreach, liturgy, local priesthood, pastoral care, prayer and teaching, with our then Vicar, Reverend Cushla McMillan, as Enabler.
With the expiry of the lease in December 2002 and the sale of the Loaves and Fishes premises the following March, the Saint Aidan's faith community moved to a new home at the Mission Cove Chapel in January 2003. In May 2004 we returned to the heart of Macandrew Bay, and are now holding our services at the Orphans' Club Hall where we continue to explore new ways to be church in the 21st century, with the guidance of our Enabler, the Reverend Helen Wilderspin.
