St Mary's parish covers the hill suburbs of Mornington, Belleknowes, Kenmure, Balaclava, Maryhill and Clyde Hill. At the beginning of 2007 St. Mary's along with St. John's Roslyn have formed the 'Dunedin Hills Ministry team'. Whilst the two churches remain independent parishes, the co-operation seeks to resource and facilitate mission across the Dunedin Hills area.
Location
St. Mary's is located in the heart of Mornington on the corner of Whitby and Lawrence Street, just behind the Mornington BP station on Mailer St.
The Church
The present church, built in 1966, is a medium-sized square building with a pointed roof that looks like a spire. The brick chancel of the previous St Mary's church has been incorporated into the new church as the lady chapel. A distinctive feature of the grounds is the lych gate at the top entrance to the churchyard. Next to the church is the St. Anne's hall. This is used by various community groups, and is where we have morning tea after church. The church also has a large hall, a crypt, and a newly developed church office.

Deacon Assistant (hon.)
Revd Dr Pamela Welch (03 453 0052). Until coming to New Zealand in 2001, with her husband Neil and daugher Lucy (now 17), Pamela divided her time and energies between England and Southern Africa (chiefly Zimbabwe). She is interested in the life of the mind (academic work), in the life of the soul (spirituality, prayer and corporate worship) and being practically involved at those points where the church and the world, or community, intersect. In Africa she was often involved with opposition politics, in England with minorities and in Dunedin is working not just with Kiwis but with other newcomers and immigrants to New Zealand.
