Ranfurly (pop 800) became the main township of the Maniototo basin after the (now defunct) railway route by- passed Naseby. On the plain, it is an hour by road from Alexandra; an hour and a half from Dunedin or Oamaru on the east coast. St Hilda's (built in 1965 to replace its 1925 predecessor) is the region's most modern Anglican church. The lovely windows were recently moved from nearby St Clement's, Waipiata after that church was closed and deconsecrated.
Find St Hilda's in Welles Street, near the north-west edge of town.
