St John the Baptist, Millers Flat

Millers Flat is about 15 minutes from Roxburgh toward the southern end of the Teviot Valley district. There's a store, a hall, pub and school and two churches. Foreigners may think that Millers Flat belongs to Roxburgh. Millers Flat folk don't think so! St John's was built (unusually, at that time, of poured concrete with a specially striking rose window) in 1914.

Find St John's by crossing the Clutha River from SH 8 by bridge at either Millers Flat or Roxburgh. The church is to the north of the village on the road running parallel to the left bank of the River.

Scheduled Worship: Third Sunday of the month, 11.15 am.

Local Contact: Alison Perkins, Island Block, No 2 RD Roxburgh, phone 03-446 8366
