St Aidan's, Alexandra


Alexandra, pop 5000, is two and a half hours by car from Dunedin, Invercargill or Oamaru and an hour from the lake resorts of Queenstown and Wanaka. At the junctions of the Clutha and Manuherikia Rivers, and of State Highways 8 and 85, it is strategically placed as the main commericial and cultural centre for a wide region. St Aidan's was built of local schist stone in 1901.
