Video’s Available to Borrow
I have the following Videos available to be borrowed for individual or Church use.
Welcome to the World of AMB. This gives an over view of the work your money goes to
Stories from AMB—this is the account, created by our Youth, of the visit to Africa by our youth from the three Tikangas. It is really worth showing to all ages.
Common Life Missions Conference DVDs covering the Key note speakers, the Bible Study, Workshops etc
I have other short (2-3 min)extracts on DVD that can be shown prior to the service on Sunday
I have a power point CD of my report to the Church as a result of my visit to PNG (20 minutes) that would be available to groups or individuals. There is sound and voice.
Soon I will have broken parts of this report and experience into 2-3 minute extracts for use prior to Services, to provoke discussion etc. There is sound and voice.
Our Next Door Nation put out by ABM Australia but more related to the work we do than theirs.
All these are available by contacting me best by email as the mail service to Lumsden is really poor and unreliable.
Have you received your copy of the combined NZCMS and AMB Prayer Diary?
The Annual Report of The Anglican Missions Board
This was given out to all Parishes at our Diocesan Synod and is interesting to look at. There is a comment by the present Chair, Bishop Gabriel Sharma, a reflection by the Executive Officer, Canon Robert Kereopa, and information you need to be aware of regarding your Mission Activity.
Where the money comes from, the cost of oversight by the Board, the cost of informing, actioning, and accounting for our work, and where the money goes is all in pye charts for those pictorially motivated and in spread sheet form for those who like figures. We have called our income as a Taonga—a gift back to God.
How the Taonga is created. All the money the Board receives comes from “the people in our pews”. This makes the Taonga even more precious. It is a gift from our Church to the Church overseas. Almost every Parish in New Zealand gives as they are able and nearly 1.5 million is created
How the Taonga is Divided. The largest portion goes to NZCMS to help them support our NZ missionaries overseas. NZCMS is our big
est and most effective “sender” so it is right to support them.
As Polynesian is our third Tikanga, they are naturally next
in preference. Our Next Door neighbours, Papua New
Guinea are next. After these comes the many other tradition
al support.
The Balance Received. Note that it does cost to inform, it
costs to motivate, it costs to be accountable and because the
Board is part of the church no money can be hidden by call
ing them donations or sponsorship. So we need to judge car
efully when comparing to the big organisations. If you do this, you will see that it is a very effective and lean set up compared to other similar institutions. 75c in every dollar goes on Grants and allocations. 10c is spent on informing and 15c on the running costs. Being a church that covers NZ and the Pacific the Board costs are high.

The Myanamar Appeal. How much has been given? Is there any Govt. support? How will it get there?
