A Beginner's Guide to the Anglican Church
The Anglican Diocese of Dunedin was founded in 1869; before that date it was part of the Diocese of Christchurch.  The Diocese covers the provinces of Otago and Southland, in the South Island of New Zealand.  It contains about thirty parishes, and its cathedral is St Paul's in Dunedin.

The Diocese also has links to social service agencies in Dunedin and Invercargill, a girls' school, a University hall of residence, four rest homes and a psycho-geriatric hospital.

Follow the links on the left to find out more about the Diocese of Dunedin.  If you're new to the Anglican Church, the Beginner's Guide contains information about what Anglicans believe, and what goes on in an Anglican service of worship.

To find out more about individual churches in the Diocese, please visit our Parishes page.  For information about the other organisations and programmes running in the Diocese, see the Organisations page.  For more about our people, including profiles of the Bishop and some other Diocesan staff, visit our People page.
